1. Characters
Aithriocht is a structured world in the fact that only specific beings can be born from the world in general. In this case, I will not accept characters that do not follow specific guidelines. Other worlds have a bit more freedom in this, so I apologize...somewhat. It's My brainchild however, so no complaining. XD Those that wish to apply are also welcome to add any information they feel may be needed to these forms.
I also ask that you stick to your character's form. Character development is welcomed, however, if the personality listed is that they are shy and prefer to watch than be seen, suddenly having them throw themselves at someone because it would be a beneficial pairing would be questionable. Please be true to the characters.
2. Out of Character Conduct
Please use common courtesy when in OOC. Prejudice is not tolerated, along with fighting on the Aithriocht boards. If you have an issue with someone please deal with it via E-mail or Instant Messaging, if they have both hidden then PM them.
3. In Character / Roleplaying
Use proper spelling and grammar when roleplaying. Mistakes are understandable but stuff like "leik OMG u did knot!!11!!1" (borrowed from Ren) is not acceptable. Some net-speak is allowed in the OOC general chat board but I would prefer that it be kept to a bare minimal.
There is currently no word requirement, but I would prefer if you kept to around 50 words per post (Posting nothing more than a couple sentences is likely to get you griped at).
No powerplaying/Godplaying. If you've discussed it with the person you're roleplaying with than it's fine, but there are no other exceptions. Even the strangelings and shadow shifters are only flesh and blood and every action requires an appropriate amount of energy - do not act as one of the Gods. Please inform me if there is an understanding between you and another player regarding powerplaying.
Important: Shifters are literally incapable of using the word I. They are still able to say other, similar words, like pie or high, but I itself, including the affirmative 'aye,' are NEVER to be seen within this world by a shifter or strangeling.
They are also not a species to label things; 'This is bad,' 'good girl,' ect. While they may say "Alright, love." they will never say 'hate' as that is another word that just isn't part of their vocabulary.
To help people cope with this, a few examples with and without the forbidden words.
"I love you" -> "My love"
"This is bad" -> "Oh no"
"You did good" -> "Most excellent"
"I hate them for what they did" -> "This is unforgivable"
Just for a few possibilities.
4. Adult Content
Aithriocht is an R rated world/board. Violence, sexual acts and foul language are accepted in the appropriate area provided (though foul language will be allowed in all areas, I would prefer that this is not in excess -- meaning I don't want every character swearing their head off).
So if you are under 13 or are not mature enough to handle such situations, please RP elsewhere. If you are intent on RPing here: you've been warned.
To make this easier, however, there has been a section of the world set aside especially for this material. Rather it be pre-planned or taking a life of its own and branching towards that direction (without any doubt as to rather it is or not) the thread belongs in the provided section (Aire Duit).
5. Breeding
If you're character is involved in a sexual act then there is a chance that they will become pregnant. Whether or not the character conceives is entirely up to chance, and is determined by myself and a randomizer. I would suggest that if your character is involved in a sexual act, you PM me to inform me, and I will notify you as to whether or not your character is with child. If that is the case, I will also ask you to provide me with the stats for both the mother and the father so I can generate your child/children.
6. Aging
Aging is usually different among species. While humans age normally, shifters and strangelings do not age in the same way - An old cat may have a few differences from a standard cat, but there is no vastly noticeable signs between an old one and one that is only a few years old.
Because of this even the oldest of shifters/strangelings will look 'distinguished' in their human form, but a sixty year old shifter will not look the same as a sixty year old human.
Shifters still age at a slightly accelerated rate, however. A one year old shifter will appear to be closer towards two, a twelve year old closer to fourteen or fifteen. The normal ageing processes are all included, meaning that by twelve they are old enough to reproduce. Shifters also hold the same age appearance rather they are in a human or animalistic form - I.E., a one year old toddler in human form will still appear as a kitten, or a kitten with its eyes and ears closed will still have the look of a new born human (closed eyes and ears also carries over).
7. Time
As of now Time must be strictly followed in an RP sense. It may take several days to RP the events of a single day in the world; however, I will not allow that the day's events in one thread suddenly be greatly altered because of resulting events that are found to happen a week later.
Do NOT go back into a previous time frame to change events and avoid certain results. If it has been done then it has been done; live with it.
8. Shifting
Shifters can NOT shift halfway between forms and stop there. There is NO anthropomorphizing in this world, at all. No exceptions.
9. Nudity
Shifters are not sensitive about nudity, rather they are in a human form or not. The bulk of their time is normally spent in their animalistic forms, as it is the one they are most comfortable with. The human form is only used for a few advantages, such as cross breeding should a sparrow fall in love with a dragon fly, the absolute NEED for thumbs (They would normally rather make due without if possible), or easier navigation (reaching something or moving through something easier).
Because of this, they are for the most part hairy and naked. When they shift to a human form, they are still naked, merely hairless; it does not impact them at all, save perhaps the sudden chill of wind against smooth skin. They can still think themselves unattractive (in either/both forms) and be shy about being around others, but they are not effected by nudity itself.
