Castle Kyvern

Castle Kyvern is an oddity in Nivern. Situated in the heart of the extended finger of the Belanoche, it is unlike most eyries in the fact that it is built from stone and masonry and is much like your typical medieval castle rather than the tall spires that are customary of the winged folk. Oddly dark and ominous, the castle is a forboding presence within Nivern. Small attachments of the royal guard are sent there yearly to explore the mountanous region and to keep a close eye on their perilous position within the finger of the mountains. The castle itself is heavily garrisoned, and is run by the Duke, Círdan, and the Lady Uruviel. Although the two seem pleasant enough, there is an air about them that makes most visitors nervous.
